The Ghanian Community

The Ghanian community in Brescia is about 5000 people, but the Catholics, who attend church in Stocchetta are about 200. There are other 3 Ghanian churches in the province of Brescia. Apart from attending church every Sunday in Stocchetta, we Ghanians enjoy attending adorations, ceremonies, funerals, get-togethers, where we meet each other to eat, drink and dance. So we contribute money to help the organizer of the ceremonies in his expences.
We also have a Ghanian association consisting of all Ghanians in Brescia who are irrespective of their religious denomination. Every Saturday evening Catholic Ghanians of Stocchetta, including teenagers, meet at church to practice their church songs and observe a period of prayers.
Last year and this year, at the beginning of January, the teenagers were sponsored by Padre Mario, so they went to GMB.
Every year on summer we usually make an other trip to Mura di Casto for five days. Every morning, after breakfast, we get together to pray, then we decide what to do in the afternoon; we play sports or we go to admire the beautiful landscape with mountains, trees, etc… We slept in curtains, we had to wear heavy clothes because the night was long and very very cold.
The organizers of this experience are Padre Domenico and two seminarists (Oscar and Giovanni).
